Amy Ray returns to “SLC Radio” KRCL

by Troy Williams

It’s always a blast to welcome back Amy Ray to Salt Lake City and KRCL.

Last Saturday Amy was back into town to promote her solo cd, Lung of Love.  She also brought some new friends, Seattle musicians Jeff Fielder and Lindsay Fuller.  Lindsay just released a stunning new cd, You, Anniversary.  We welcomed them at KRCL — the very station that inspired Amy’s rowdy rock anthem, “SLC Radio”.

Amy discusses the origins of “SLC Radio” and the power of community radio to create change through dialogue.  She performs “SLC Radio”, “Rock of My Foundation” and two pieces from Lindsay, “Big White Lie” and “You, Anniversary”.

Listen to the entire radio interview here.  Enjoy!

The concert at The State Room later that night was phenomenal.  Three hours of solid music, surrounded my some of my favorite people in Utah.  These were all the “kids in Salt Lake City, fighting to be made free.”  Life couldn’t be better.
